The poster for the movie "Barbie" has already become the most iconic meme of the year

Currently, my Twitter feed is 99 percent jokes, memes, and comments about the Barbie movie. The movie hasn't even been released yet, and already it's deeply symbolic.

ICYMI, Greta Gerwig's live-action movie will be released this July, during peak blockbuster season. [Ryan Gosling stars as Ken and Margot Robbie as Barbie, along with Sim Liu, Emma McKee, Nicolas Coughlan, Kate McKinnon, Dua Lipa, Hari Nef, Issa Rae, and SO. many others.

Other stars (i.e., playing other roles) include: Helen Mirren, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Emerald Fennell, and the list goes on and on.

On Tuesday, a new trailer for the film was released, as well as a series of alternate movie posters depicting those stars.

The Internet immediately went into overdrive and started making all kinds of jokes.

"This is my 'Citizen Kane. My Godfather. My Dark Knight," declared one Twitter user after seeing the trailer.

Sim Liu himself captioned a photo of his character "nipple free."

A photo of his character was also posted on Twitter, with the caption.

"Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, you were bigger than the whole sky," someone captioned a photo of Saoirse Ronan in Barbie. Ronan, a longtime collaborator of Gerwig's, was originally supposed to be included in the cast, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.

Someone asked, "Where is the ZENDAYA Barbie poster?" I asked.

One account said in April 2022, next to a promotional photo of Robbie as Barbie, "As perfect as you can expect from this casting, but if you really want to do her right, she should be like every Barbie my sisters have ever had, with the balmy hair and Chiggy shoes should end the movie," she tweeted.

This week, they tweeted, citing a poster of McKinnon with haphazardly cut hair and graffiti on his face. They wrote, "Crazy bastards did it."

Many commented on the amazing shot of Barbie's feet when she takes off her high-heeled shoes to reveal high-heeled shoe-shaped feet (like the ones Barbie has).

"Are we looking at Christopher Nolan?" one wrote.

By the way, the film's official poster includes the line "She's everything; He's just Ken," which has also generated many memes.

"Every girl I know gets engaged," one wrote.

Merriam-Webster, famous for his jokes, wrote, "She's | pronouns | everything that exists or is thought to exist (from Middle English "every thing," first known to have been used in the 13th century)."

"He's just Ken. " he tweeted.

Someone shared a poster of Ryan Gosling with the caption "y'all he looks so STUPID (complimentary) literally the perfect ken i'm crying so bad omg"

It didn't take long after that for everyone to start making their own movie posters using their own photos and those of pop culture figures. By the way, you too can make one using this special tool.

Here's Gwyneth Paltrow at her recent ski accident trial:

Here's character actress Margo Martindale (quoting "Bojack Horseman"):

Angela Bassett (she did that thing):

Fans have also made posters for Taylor Swift, Black Pink, Louis Tomlinson, and more. The possibilities are endless!
