Every season of Love is Blind has at least one dramatic love triangle. (In "Love is Blind" Season 4, the couple who must overcome temptation from other pod members is Kwame and Chelsea: the 33-year-old sales development manager and the 31-year-old pediatric speech therapist quickly form a relationship in the pod, but Kwame has a 27-year-old marketing manager also has an interest in Micah. Kwame and Micah's connection will affect his relationship with Chelsea after they leave the pod to escape to Mexico, and this love triangle will likely continue through the second half of the season. Chelsea and Kwame hit it off immediately when they meet in pods, and the outgoing dog mom and former soccer player hang out together easily. However, Kwame and Micah's bond seems stronger, and he even told her at one point that he wanted to propose to her as soon as possible. Initially, Micah did not want Kwame to have any other connections (awkwardness between her and Chelsea in the women's residence), but Micah decided to throw himself wholeheartedly into Paul and broke up with Kwame. Although hurt by the breakup, Kwame decides to focus on Chelsea and, like Micah and Paul, later becomes engaged. The two become intimate in Mexico as well.

Problems arise when they meet all the other cast members in person at a pool party. Kwame and Micah spend most of the party (at least on camera) separately chatting and looking friendly. There is a snarky moment between the two, when Micah and Irina gather people for a shot and Micah tries to toast the "failed proposal." Kwame is understandably hurt by the remark, but he and Mika have another side conversation and come to a resolution. At that point, however, most of the cast realizes that the two have been chatting for a while, and Chelsea gets annoyed and leaves the party early.

In private, Chelsea tells Kwami that she didn't like how close he seemed to be with Micah. She also asks Kwame if he has ended his relationship with Micah, and he admits that he has not. Chelsea is annoyed, but Kwame assures her that he is done with Micah in a romantic sense, and the two come to an understanding over the rest of their honeymoon. Once they leave Mexico and settle down in Seattle, the two seem to bond strongly again, but the teaser video hints that the connection between Kwame and Mayka will continue.

Like other couples, Chelsea and Kwame are hiding clues in their Instagram feeds. (Netflix has plenty of practice keeping cast members from posting spoilers.) As of the premiere, Chelsea and Kwame follow other cast members (including Kwame following Micah and Paul) but do not follow each other. However, "Entertainment Tonight" (opens in new tab) caught Chelsea and Kwame hanging out with fellow cast members Zach and Paul earlier this month, and it appears that things are at least friendly between the two.
