Zach Goitowski falls for both Bliss Preetzadi and Irina Solomanova in the pod, but after he chooses Irina, their Mexican getaway is not the romantic honeymoon they had hoped for. When Zach returns to Seattle, he and Bliss decide to make love again.

Zach and Bliss hit it off immediately in the pod, and the 31-year-old criminal defense attorney and 33-year-old senior program manager seem destined to be together. They both say their mother's favorite song is "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack and both say owls are their favorite animal, so they are pitted against each other in their minds. There is also a sweet moment when Zach talks about growing up poor with his mother, and Bliss understands and cheers him on.

However, Zack is also connected to Irina, the business owner, and things get a little awkward in the women's residence when it becomes clear that both Irina and Bliss have a crush on Zack. When Bliss takes over the kitchen to bake cupcakes for Zack's birthday, Irina asks him to take one of her candles before admitting that she forgot Zack's birthday. Bliss makes it clear to Zack that she doesn't like Irina, but she also understands that Zack might see a different side of Irina. In the end, Zack chooses Irina, and Irina feels that she can be trusted, which breaks Bliss's heart.

A year after the musical proposal, Zack and Irina meet for the first time, but Irina's feelings quickly cool. Zack's attempts to get Irina to open up to him fail at every turn, and they spend the rest of their trip to Mexico in a very awkward atmosphere. On the last night, Zack and Irina break up, and Irina also tells Zack that he made a mistake in choosing her over Bliss.

When Zach and Bliss meet again at a restaurant in Seattle, Zach immediately admits his mistake. I made the wrong choice. I made the wrong choice. You were the woman I was looking for," he tells Bliss. Bliss is skeptical and hesitant to give Zach a second chance, but she eventually gives him a second chance, confessing that their chemistry is "bringing back all the feelings." Eventually, two weeks before the "Love Is Blind" wedding, Zach proposed to Bliss on a boat date, and she said yes.

They quickly continued the LIB process and moved in together, even though Bliss still had her own worries about being Zach's second choice; they worked things out and debuted as a couple at Chelsea's birthday party. However, according to trailers for the rest of the season, it appears that Bliss and Zach will at least reach the altar.

Like other season 4 couples, Zach and Bliss's Instagram doesn't offer many hints; there is one fun one: during 2022, Bliss posts only a few, but shares some photos from a February 2023 trip to Cabo (open in new tab) She has. Since she missed her vacation at LIB, this trip may have been Zach's way of making it up to her.

Bliss also hinted in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly (opens in new tab) that she and Zach are still good friends today, sharing her thoughts after seeing Zach and Irina's scenes in Mexico. She told the magazine, "Zach and I broke up in a pod, but I still believe he's a very nice guy, and it was really heartbreaking to see [him and Irina's breakup], and I felt really sorry for him." No matter what, people don't deserve to be treated so poorly. It wasn't easy to see him treated that way."

She also said later in the interview that her respect for Zach was part of the reason she continued to experiment with him and praised him goofily." She added, "I really, really respect him as a person and he's such a wonderful person and he's also very forgiving and kind, more so than I am on some level. 'I think I learned that from him throughout my experience in the pod. Without respecting his personality and respecting him as a human being, I would not have continued this process, which became very difficult at the end."

Regarding her feelings about Irina at all, Bliss told People (open in new tab) that she has no bad blood with her cast mate, adding that she stands by the last conversation she and Irina had in the pod.

"For me, this was a year ago. 'This is just a small part of my and Zach's story. So it's something I feel like I've really moved on from and I just wish the best for everyone."
