Prince & Princess of Wales Splits Last Day in Boston

It has been a quick two and a half days for the Prince and Princess of Wales since their plane (a commercial flight) landed in Boston from London on Wednesday afternoon. William and Catherine were next to each other at all the events on Wednesday and Thursday and color-coordinated most of their outfits for the two days, but on Friday morning, Catherine headed to Harvard University and its Center on the Developing Child, including William's visit with President Joe Biden, visited the JFK Presidential Library and Museum.

Catherine wore a blue staggered Emilia Wickstead (opens in new tab) (a longtime wardrobe staple designer) and gold earrings by London-based Renique Louis, plus a blue handbag and brown pumps. The look followed a visit on September 4, 1986, when Catherine was just four years old, when her father-in-law, King Charles, signed the Harvard guestbook.

At Harvard, Princess Catherine displayed her genius. (In June 2021, she launched the Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood, which frequently collaborates with Harvard.) On three tours in Denmark, Jamaica, and now Boston in 2022, Catherine's early childhood work as a regular part of her itinerary. It is important to her.

After an hour and a half visit, the princess took a walk outside the building, where Boston native Will Heffernan spoke to her. It's something I'll always remember." She was a first-class person. She's going to be a wonderful queen in the future." Princess Catherine hopped into the hybrid Range Rover that she and William had been riding throughout the visit and drove off into the rest of the day.

Meanwhile, William visited the JFK Library with JFK's daughter Caroline Kennedy, Kennedy's son Jack Schlossberg, and daughter Tatiana Schlossberg. William professed admiration for JFK and his ambitious "moonshot" (the goal of getting mankind to the moon by the end of the 1960s, which was accomplished and named Earthshot in its honor), so the library visit made sense. Later, William attended a private lunch. He also met with President Joe Biden and spoke with him for about 30 minutes. Of the visit, William's spokesman said, "It was a warm, friendly, and substantive discussion. The President was eager to hear about the Prince's Earthshot Award and the stories of the finalists. The Prince also shared his global and long-term ambitions for the prize."

This was the fourth meeting between William and Biden in the past 18 months, most recently at the funeral of His late Majesty the King in September. William was especially grateful for Biden's presence, and both spoke of their memories of the Queen.

William and Catherine ended their day and trip to Boston at the lavish Earthshot Awards ceremony that evening.
