Kate Middleton talks about the difficult milestones Prince George is mastering.

It was only yesterday that Prince William and Kate Middleton were holding their newborn Prince George on the steps of the Lindo Wing.

The new Princess of Wales was greeting well-wishers in Wales this week, and after complimenting one boy's uniform who had gathered to meet her, she revealed that George is working hard to master a complex skill.

"Hello!" reported that Kate asked the boy if he had tied his own tie and was impressed when he confirmed that he had.

"Well done. 'George has to wear a tie at school, and I'm teaching him how to do it. But he did a great job tying his own tie. Nice to meet you."

George, along with his younger siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are new students at Lambrook School, and at the Lambrook preview on September 7, George and Louis wore the Lambrook boys' summer uniform of checked button-downs and shorts, according to People that "George will have to wear his regular daywear uniform and tie as the weather gets colder. His younger brother George, however, is exempt from wearing a tie until he enters the third grade.

These days, George is often seen in a tie. Both on joyous and somber occasions. George has been spotted in ties at multiple sporting events, including tennis and soccer, at the funeral of his great-grandparent, Prince Philip, in 2021, and just this month at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth.

At Queen Elizabeth's funeral on September 19, George wore a navy suit and tie.
