Original Article Buckingham Palace took the unusual step this morning of acknowledging rumors that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are considering moving to Canada (opens in new tab) after spending their vacation there and may vacate their titles as crown prince. Normally, the Palace says nothing about such reports.

Buckingham Palace told the Daily Mail (opens in new tab) that it does not comment on "speculation. The palace also said that Harry and Meghan will be doing more royal functions in the coming weeks.

The Sun (open in new tab) first reported the news, claiming through sources that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be vacating their HRH title and moving their offices to Canada.

One "friend" said, "It is true that Harry and Meghan will be spending considerable time in Canada over the next few months and probably beyond. Right now they are beginning discussions with their families about their future plans. Those discussions are in the very early stages. It is a very deliberate and serious process and they intend to respect that. However, it is clear that they are on a unique path that sets them apart from others and they are seriously considering what the future will look like for them. This may include being based in Canada and moving away from the HRH title. It's been a very difficult year for us, being newly married and having young children. Everything is on the table."

It is clear that Harry and Meghan thoroughly enjoyed their six-week vacation on Vancouver Island during the holidays. When they returned to work yesterday, their first stop was at Canada House in London, where they expressed their sincere thanks to all those who helped make their trip to Canada a success.

Megan said yesterday: "It was truly a wonderful time we had there and with our son. Not only were we able to embrace the warmth of the people we experienced, but we were able to walk and see the beauty of Canada and watch Archie "breathe" as we walked. It was important to us to start the year here and show our appreciation."
