Perhaps it's not so easy for Prince Harry to settle down in front of Netflix. It seems reasonable to assume that Harry was joking about "stopping" the show, but given the heavily documented, sometimes deeply tragic, nature of his childhood, it is not difficult to sympathize with his desire not to see the show reimagined.

The royal family has repeatedly denied any involvement with The Crown after screenwriter Peter Morgan suggested that he had consulted "very high-ranking, very active people" within the royal family. In a letter to The Times of London (opens in new tab), the queen's secretary, Donal McCabe, emphasized that "the royal family has never agreed to review or approve content, has never sought to know what topics will be included, and has never taken a position on the accuracy of the program Nor do we express an opinion on the accuracy of the program," he emphasized. In other words, whether or not you watch the program, don't assume it has the royal seal of approval.
