Blake Lively Gives Vintage Femme Fatale Vibe in New York City

Spotted in Manhattan: Blake Lively dressed up for a press tour. Pink trench coat dress, black boots and leather gloves, and lots of jewelry. Her hair pinned to the side and her crimson lips clearly have a 1940s vibe.

Why, perhaps it's a nod to one of the looks of Stephanie Patrick, the character she played in the film. Lively teased the look (in disguise, of course) on her Instagram. Patrick, as seen in the trailer, has had her family murdered and is bent on revenge. For this role, Lively wears a variety of wigs to play the dark character:

On her last press tour, she also chose an outfit based on the character she plays. At that time, she was promoting "Simple Favors," and the character she plays, Emily, always wears a suit. So Lively wore a suit at every press stop.

Whether the femme fatale motif will stick this time around remains to be seen. Nevertheless, this is Lively's first press look in a decade, since welcoming her third daughter at the end of the summer.

By the way, Lively explained to Women's Wear Daily (opens in new tab) in March 2018 why she is a stylist." I have control issues and a big ego. That might be the honest answer (to why I don't hire a stylist)," per WWD's reporter, who became more serious after she spoke up. 'I just love it. I love design, I love fashion, I love being creative. You can be creative in your job, but it's over a period of time and a lot of people are involved. I like doing my friends' hair and makeup and cooking for the same reason: I can be creative. In my line of work, if I do it, it's done two years later. It probably goes back to a control issue." Okay, I did it, it's done, it's done!" That's what it feels like."

If you're as obsessed with Lively trench coats as we are, Reiss sells something similar.
