Kate Middleton visits a kindergarten in London and serves breakfast to the children.

Earlier this month, Kate Middleton launched a UK study on early childhood development (opens in new tab) called "Five Big Questions About Under-Fives." To promote the survey, she is on a solo tour of the UK, stopping at the Ely and Carlow Children's Center in Cardiff, Wales; HMP Send, a women's prison in Surrey, England; and interactive children's activities at the Birmingham Science Museum They are stopping by MiniBrum. On Wednesday, she visited the LEYF (London Early Years Foundation) Stockwell Gardens Nursery and Pre-School, where she served breakfast to kindergarteners.

Kate's visit to the preschool was to call attention to childhood nutrition (especially a good breakfast - hence her early morning arrival.) According to People, she was there to train the nursery staff, the children, and the chefs who prepare nutritious meals for children under 8 years old, through the LEYF She spoke with members of the Early Years Chef Academy.

The "Five Big Questions about Under-5s" survey (opens in new tab) consists of five questions about how early experiences affect health and wellbeing in later life, as you probably guessed from the title. Kelly Beaver of the research firm Ipsos MORI, which is conducting the survey for the Royal Foundation, told The Independent (opens in new tab).

An official Kensington Royal Family Instagram statement (opens in new tab) reads:" This survey is designed to bring together the thoughts of as many people as possible across the UK." "It recognizes that everyone has a role to play in ensuring a strong and healthy foundation for the youngest in our society, which will have a positive impact on their lifetime outcomes." The post continues, "Five Big Questions about Under-Fives aims to spark the biggest conversation ever about early childhood and will ultimately help bring about positive and lasting change for generations to come.
