Claire Danes has "zero regrets" about turning down the role of Rose in "Titanic".

[Specifically, Claire Danes could have played Rose (open in new tab) instead of Kate Winslet, and it would be Danes who a good portion of the Internet is still upset about a certain Jack/Leonardo DiCaprio scene sinking into the icy waters. The film made Winslet and DiCaprio huge stars, and it turns out that Danes has no regrets about turning down the role.

Appearing on Dax Shepard's "Armchair Expert" podcast, Danes explained that Titanic was cast shortly after he shot the 1996 film Romeo + Juliet with DiCaprio. I didn't want it. And today, she has "zero regrets" about her decision, explaining that "it was going to propel me into something I knew I didn't have the resources to deal with."
