Kate Middleton smiles with Prince William in a heart-patterned scarf.

February is finally here, and Valentine's Day is next Friday. But Kate Middleton is now preparing to celebrate: the Duchess of Cambridge has just arrived in Wales with Prince William, dressed in a Valentine's-themed red heart scarf and a double-breasted Hobbs London coat. She wore red underneath and carried a red clutch bag. Kensington Palace announced that the couple's visit was preceded by a visit "to visit organizations and businesses at the heart of the community" (opens in new tab).

William was dressed in sophisticated but cozy attire. He wore a black suit jacket with a light blue button-up, a green sweater, and dark pants; the two posed together at Mumbles Pier, the first stop of their afternoon engagement. They also showed some PDA, with Kate touching William's shoulder, a rarity for the two.

Their appearance came two days after the couple attended BAFTAs, where Kate once again wore an Alexander McQueen white and gold dress (open in new tab). But what made the couple especially newsworthy was their reaction to Brad Pitt's joke about Prince Harry leaving the UK, which Margot Robbie performed because Pitt was unable to attend the awards ceremony. (Harry and Meghan Markle announced last month their intention to step down from their royal family roles and split their lives between the UK and North America; they are currently in Canada.)

Robbie said on Pitt's behalf, "He's going to name this [BAFTA] Harry. His words, not mine.

The camera cuts to Kate and William in the audience, who appear to be laughing at the joke.
