Kate Middleton and Prince William "Offended" by BAFTA Joke About Harry
Update 2/6: At the time, Kate and William joked that Brad Pitt was often read Harry by Margot Robbie, saying, "He's going to name this (award) Harry.
British commentator Neal Schon told Fox News: "The feedback is that a lot of stars have fallen in line in front of a patron, the Duke of Cambridge.
He also claimed that Rebel Wilson's joke was the most offensive: "Royal Andrew ...... Uh, Royal Harry. Royal Andrew... Uh, Royal Harry.
Sean claimed that:" The double agents also want to make sure that the royal family is not embarrassed or made a fool of again at such a prestigious event ...... They told me that they would have a "moral clause" inserted into the acceptance agreement that would ensure that the royal couple, who dedicated their time and support to such a wonderful celebration of cinema, would be duly honored and respected."
In other words, take this report with a grain of salt, but...
Original post The British Academy Film Awards (open in new tab) (aka BAFTAs) were held last night, and Net's boyfriend, Brad Pitt, won Best Supporting Actor for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Brad was unable to attend the awards ceremony, but wrote a speech for Margot Robbie, which included a joke about Prince Harry abandoning the royal family. And here's the kicker: Kate Middleton and Prince William were in the audience at the time (opens in new tab).
"Brad couldn't be here tonight because of family business, so he asked me to read his response for him," Robbie said. 'He says, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. 'I heard you're single now. Welcome to the club! I wish you the best of luck with your divorce settlement. And then he says, 'Thank you to the Academy for this great honor. I've always been a little put off over here when I think of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the masters who have come before, so this is especially meaningful to me.'"
