Queen sees Prince Harry as "prodigal son" and welcomes him as an active royal anytime, experts say
Prince Harry (opens in new tab) stepped down from his role as the current senior royal this year, but the decision need not be permanent.
In an interview with Sky News this week, Ingrid Sward (opens in new tab), editor-in-chief of Majesty (opens in new tab) magazine (opens in new tab), discussed Harry's royal exit (opens in new tab) and how the Queen how she really feels behind the scenes (opens in new tab).
"I think the Queen sees Harry as the prodigal son. I think she is very reluctant to criticize what he does."
And according to Sward, that "no criticism" policy extends not only to the press and public, but also to other members of the royal family (opens in new tab).
"Secretly, she may be very sad, but she will probably never comment, even to her family," Sward said. 'She will keep her feelings very close to her chest.'
At least for now, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle (open in new tab) are reportedly very happy with their decision to step down from royal life.
