Netflix's "Cursed" will fill the "Game of Thrones" void in your life.

I've been narrowing down my streaming options over the past few weeks. I finished watching Ryan Murphy's "Hollywood" (open in new tab), cringed at watching "Too Hot to Handle" (open in new tab) for over eight hours, and, of course, binge-watched every new (and old) movie Netflix has to offer (open in new tab). Enter: cursed." it may not be HBO's (open in new tab) "Game of Thrones" (open in new tab), but the streaming giant's latest conquest looks fascinating and interesting enough to fill the void in our binge-watching. Ahead, here's everything you need to know about Netflix's latest medieval fantasy series.

The new show finds its story from the young adult graphic novel Cursed. The book was written by Tom Wheeler and illustrated by Frank Miller, known for films such as "Sin City" and "300." Wheeler is also the showrunner.

The plot of the novel is a retelling of the Arthurian legend. In the legendary tale, King Arthur retrieves the sword Excalibur from the Lady of the Lake. In "Cursed," however, it is the Lady who will have that powerful weapon. (We're all for a feminist twist.)

Great news: Netflix has announced the official premiere date, and it looks like it will be July 17. All 10 episodes of "The Damned" will be coming to the streaming service this summer.

Also still freaking out over this promotional poster with the show's tagline: "What if the sword chooses the queen? Symbolic.

The trailer is only two minutes long, but it gave me enough goosebumps to keep me going until 2021.

In the clip, lead actress Katherine Langford travels through four seasons, ordered by her mother to deliver the sword. 'You are not a frail maid. You are a warrior. (She ends up absorbing the power from the sword and wiping out the two bad guys in front of her. It has the whiff of medieval drama.

As if I couldn't get more excited, Langford, of "13 Reasons Why" and "Knives Out" fame, will play the lead role of Nimue. Langford announced in September 2018 (opens in new tab) that she would be joining the cast (yes, the show has been in production for a long time). Newcomer Devon Terrell, who previously played a young Barack Obama in "Barry," will play Arthur.

The rest of the Cursed cast includes Gustav Skarsgård as Merlin (yes, his brother is Alexander Skarsgård). Daniel Sherman ("Teen Wolf") plays the "weeping monk," Sebastian Armesto ("Harlot") is King Uther Pendragon, and Lily Newmark ("Sex Education") plays Pim.

"I think when casting for Cursed, Frank and I were first and foremost looking for actors who could bring emotion and humanity to legendary characters without losing the sense of mythic truth, elemental magic, or grand stakes," Wheeler told Entertainment Wheeler tells Entertainment Weekly (opens in new tab). Led by Katherine Langford, who plays the classic hero and sword-wielding villainess in equal measure, this extraordinary cast brings depth, commitment, and heart to this story. I can't wait to introduce them to audiences around the world."

While the trailer feels like a teaser, we have pictures to quench your thirst. And from these pictures we cannot complain.
