Speaking to the BBC (opens in new tab), Madders revealed that she was very excited to receive a response from the Queen after sending the gift, saying, "[The letter] was very good, very important, and I was happy that the Queen liked it.... She probably wants to keep herself busy."

Timothy's mother, Jo Madders, told the site, "He wanted to do something to cheer her up and wrote the most beautiful letter." Timothy was also very particular about delivering the crossword of happiness to Her Majesty the Queen. He chose the theme of happiness because he wanted words that would make people think of happy things while doing it."

His mother continued. "He kept telling me not to send the original to anyone else because it was for the Queen (opens in new tab)... He is always thinking of others."
