Well, my friends: Prince George, eldest son of Kate Middleton and Prince William, has turned seven. Time is a river that cannot be dammed, and you, like me, are older than either of us expected. So, happy birthday, George!

The Royal Family is surely equally alarmed by George's rapid growth, and the related, unstoppable onslaught of time, but they chose not to mention it in their birthday wishes on social media to the little royal family. The official royal Instagram account shared one of two new photos taken by the Duchess of Cambridge that were released in honor of George's birthday." Wishing Prince George a very happy 7th birthday!" The caption reads.

Kate and William also took to Instagram to thank fans for their birthday wishes and shared another of George's official birthday portraits (featuring the prince in a camouflage T-shirt, a first for the royal family)." Thank you all for the very kind wishes for Prince George's birthday!"

Happy 7th birthday, Prince George! Next time I write about you, you will have passed your driving test, graduated from college, and I will be 800 years old!
