Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reveal how they said "I love you" for the first time.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle fell for each other quickly, royal reporters Omid Scobie and Caroline Durand say in their new book about the pair, Finding Freedom (opens in new tab). How quickly, they say, did they say "I love you" just three months after they first met.

An excerpt from the book published in The Times (opens in new tab) describes how the Sussexes' relationship began, and apparently they hit it off immediately. After just two dates at the Dean Street Townhouse in Soho House (opens in new tab), the two realized there was something there. Almost immediately, the two were infatuated with each other. It was as if Harry was in a trance."

"It was as if Harry was in a trance.

After the first date, Megan called a friend and asked, "Would I sound crazy if I said this might have legs?"

"Harry realized at that point that they were going to hook up.

Six weeks after their third date, after dinner at Kensington Palace, they traveled to Botswana together and grew even closer. Meghan told a friend, "It was such a safe ...... I had never felt so close to anyone in such a short time," and a friend of the two reportedly said, "Already then, they were each dancing around the idea that this could be forever."

Given how well things were going, it is not that surprising that it only took them three months to tell each other "I love you." According to a friend of Meghan's, they had been dating for three months and had already begun exchanging the words "I love you." Harry was the first to say it, but Meghan quickly responded, 'I love you too. From there, it didn't take long for the two to start talking about the future in less oblique terms."

The couple also said that they "had a lot of fun together.
