Ray Rivera Case, New Disturbing Update

A loving wife and aspiring writer, he disappeared when he was suddenly summoned from his Baltimore home and was later found dead in a conference room of a city hotel. His death was ruled a suicide, but investigators and Rivera's family make it clear in this episode that the unusual features of the case call that into question. Speaking on the "You Can't Make This Up" podcast (opens in new tab) and reported by Cosmo UK (opens in new tab), "Unsolved Mysteries" creator Terry Dan Muller said that someone unknown had taken the police's Rivera s computer and became very interested in it (!). He revealed that he even tried to pick it up. [When Alison [Rivera's wife] went to the police station to pick up Ray's computer, a detective told her that someone had called several times and wanted to pick up the computer and was very interested in its condition. Allison was very distressed."

This is information that was not addressed in the episode, but given that it was addressed in the episode, it is an interesting addition that seems to support the claim that something strange happened to Rivera. According to his wife, he was terrified in the days leading up to his death, but he would not confide in her what was tormenting him. According to Allison, the security system was activated twice during those weeks, but no one was found to have broken into the house. Was there important information on Rivera's computer?

The emergency call that made Rivera suddenly dash away that day (never to see his family again) originated from his workplace. However, who that person was and what the call was about has never been identified, and whatever the circumstances were, they may provide important clues as to what happened to him.

"One of the most puzzling things about this case is that someone called Ray and it never came forward," Dunn said on the podcast.

"We're hoping that someone will come forward and tell us what the call was about.
