Taylor Swift Says She Used Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' Children's Names in New Song

Taylor Swift fully admits it (opens in new tab)! Her new song "betty," off her new folklore album, is about a young man who loses the love of his life and has to apologize to get it back, using the names of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' three daughters. If this isn't basically the coolest birth/name announcement ever, I don't know what is.

Swift introduced the song on country radio. Swift said, "I've always loved that in music you can impersonate different identities and sing from other people's perspectives. So I did that with this song: ...... I named all the characters in this story after my friends' kids.

ICYMI, the lyrics "She said 'James, get in, let's drive'", "You heard the rumors from Inez / You can't believe a word she says", "Betty, I know where it all went wrong," all of the lyrics refer directly to Lively and Reynolds' three children.

Reynolds and Lively did not comment on the news, but it seems clear that they are on board. Swift actually sampled James' voice on "Gorgeous (open in new tab)," and this is not the first time the famous friends have bonded over children.

Here's Swift's full explanation:

And it adds a cute accent to an already super-popular song.
