Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly fired Archie's nanny on the second night

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (opens in new tab) are always picky about who they invite to work on their team, but when it came to finding the perfect nanny for their son Archie Harrison, the Sussexes were understandably more fastidious than ever.

In their new book, Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family (opens in new tab), royal authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand write that Archie's first night nurse Team Sussex did not last long.

"Megan and Harry felt compelled to let the nurse quit in the middle of her second night shift for being unprofessional and irresponsible," Scobie and Durand write in their book.

Oh no. Although the replacement nurse hired by Harry and Megan (open in new tab) reportedly "did a good job," the experience with the first "unprofessional" and "irresponsible" nurse stuck in the minds of the new parents. According to the book, "neither of them had to regularly check on Archie to ensure that he slept comfortably through the night."

Eventually, the Sussexes found the right solution: they decided to sacrifice sleep and take over Archie's nighttime care themselves, hiring a nanny during the day instead. Problem solved.
