Meghan Seastarion Silences Trolls by Posting Photo of Gunshot Wound

The Internet continues to minimize and ignore the trauma of Megan Sea Stallion, who was shot in both legs last month (opens in new tab). She took to Instagram to address the cruel accusations that she lied about being shot, publishing graphic (now deleted) photos of her gunshot wounds and photos from the hospital.

"What I have learned about the majority of people on social media is that you want to hear the bad news before the good news, lies spread faster than the truth, and you really believe the shit YALL make up," she captioned the photos Variety reports. 'I was shot in the back of my leg. Because I was walking backwards when I got shot. Why is everybody so upset that I don't want to be in bed?

"I got my leg stitches out two weeks ago and was getting ready to go to the celebration of WAP being #1. ...... I usually don't get into the internet bullshit, but people are sick! I usually only mention the internet crap, but you guys are sick! God is really looking out for me and I am recovering so well! I usually only mention the internet crap, but we are all sick! God is really looking out for me and I am healing so well! Sorry I'm not as sad and miserable as a lot of people lol but I will continue to be Megan Thee Mf STALLION."

After Megan was shot, social media was flooded with jokes and memes that reflected the widespread social impulse to mock, belittle, and ignore the pain of black women. Last month, in an emotional Instagram Live (open in new tab), she blasted those who made light of the shooting. 'It was the worst experience of my life and it's no laughing matter. 'It's not something to joke about. It's not something to joke about. I didn't touch anyone. I didn't deserve to be shot. I didn't do anything.
