There's something very reassuring about buying hair products from a brand with a founder as famous and established in the beauty world as Lazaro Duvos (opens in new tab). The celebrity stylist and hair legend knows what works and what doesn't, and his personal philosophy has given birth to Rose 1845 (opens in new tab), one of the most luxurious and effective brands today. Together with perfumer Christophe Laudamiel, Douvos has created a comprehensive line of hair products to suit all hair types and fragrances.

Shampoos, conditioners, perfumes, and hair oils (my favorite. Picture two French lovers taking a bath together. The scent of the room is reminiscent of freshly picked roses, ideally plucked directly from the bushes of Versailles. If you can picture such a scene in your mind's eye, you can understand why it is so easy to fall in love with all the products in this line. The oils are created to moisturize, protect, and manage each strand of hair, and they do not disappoint. Infused with keratin, ginger oil, and hand-picked roses from Grasse, just a few drops of this oil will transform hair in desperate need of moisture.

I have tried many hair oils. As the owner of thick, brittle, wavy hair that is miserably dehydrated, I use the oil several times a week to keep it from bouncing due to damage. Generally, my measure of a decent oil is "yes" to the following questions: does it feel moisturizing to my hair? Does the style last longer? When I first tried this product, it met all of these points. I use hair oil very often as a styling product before blow drying and as a moisturizer after blow drying.

When I first tried this hair oil, I was first struck by the scent. Rose is my favorite scent, but it is usually overrated in beauty products. However, the rose in this hair oil is not morbidly sweet and actually smells like the real thing, not a chemical copy. The oil itself is thicker than most other hair oils I've tried, but it still soaked into my hair without feeling greasy or heavy. But the best part of this oil happened a few days after blow drying. When I went to the mirror to reapply the oil to my frizzy ends and springy hair, there was no frizz at all. I don't know what kind of magic Mr. DeVos had worked with this product, but thanks to it, I didn't have to restyle my hair for a whole week. From now on, I will follow the example of French lovers and let my hair drink this concoction with champagne in one hand, a bouquet of roses in the other, and gorgeous hair every day.
