Since telecommuting has become our new, and "I'm not mad at it" normal, my personal style has undergone some major evolution. From Camp Counselor to Cotajecoa, my late summer and fall outfits finally landed in the minimalist mood of the 90s. One thing that has remained consistent throughout these transitions is comfort. It is.

Personally, I had to set some basic 9 to 5 rules to get motivated (throw out last night's pajamas and start the day with a quick shower, complete sweat suits only on weekends, never wear the same outfit two days in a row, etc.). I also tried not to be a slacker by incorporating "real clothes" into my loungewear.

Less technical than a sports bra and a little more coverage than a triangle bra, this bralette is more like a top than underwear. In other words, just the right amount of nakedness. The graphic cutout details also feel very minimalist, which is the vibe I really want to lean towards.

On busy work days when the temperature drops, I'll wear a linen blazer over a bralette and sturdy high-waisted leggings that feel like pants. Retro sneakers, a simple but luxe tote (I'm decluttering my purse for the time being.

I rarely go anywhere, but on "date nights" with my fiancé, I'll go out in a bit of style, whether it's a walk or a pizza takeout picnic (our Friday night ritual). I like to pair this bralette with a vintage Chanel lace skirt I recently bought at The RealReal (opens in new tab), and when the wind blows, I wrap a mohair cardigan around my shoulders to keep warm.

And on lazy Saturdays, I pair baggy jeans with a bralette.

I've been into breathable, washable fabrics lately, so the fact that this bra is made of eco-conscious cotton makes it not only easy to handle, but a little more environmentally friendly. Natural fibers are the way to go.

In short, a bralette is like hanging around in your underwear all day long; you just have to wear it smart. Combine it with more elaborate items or something basic like jeans (remember, loose, i.e., semi-naked), and you'll soon become a master of socially appropriate naked-day dressing.
