Dan Levy to showcase quilting at the 2020 Emmy Awards

It is truly a sign of the times that when the virtual curtain opened on this year's Emmy Awards (opens in new tab), I found myself lamenting the veritable cobbler of red-carpet worthy photos that this event usually spawns. It's hopeless. I can't help it. Any relief from this nightmarish year would be welcome. And now I'm modestly missing the thrill of watching my favorite small-screen stars appear in predictably wild (and occasionally very good) outfits.

Well, fear not, folks! This multi-talented actor and star of "Shit Creek" (opens in new tab) has already won three awards tonight. Because Dan Levy did not use the unusual stage of this year's Emmys as an excuse to slouch around in his sweatpants all night. Yes, he did.

In fact, Levy didn't wear pants at all. Instead, he appeared in a kilt, courtesy of Thom Browne's shrink-wearing suit experts. Photographed on the official Sitz Creek Instagram before the Emmys officially began, Levy looked dashing in swoopy tailoring that rivaled his mullet: business on the top half and party on the bottom half. [The upper body is business, the lower body is party. (Brown, a favorite of well-dressed celebrities like LeBron James, knows how to tailor a near-perfect suit; OBJ showed a similar TB look (with a kilt) at last year's Met Gala.)

Forget shorts and hoodies season. Dan Levy is on another level. And I'm not mad about it.
