Since the COVID-19 craze began, I've had little motivation to shop (just spent a lot of time in the comfortable clothes I already own (open in new tab)), but that is changing with the arrival of fall/winter. I'm taking inspiration from new knit sweaters (open in new tab), chunky platform boots (open in new tab), cool outerwear (open in new tab), and especially leather trenches. Everyone from Kaia Gerber to Katie Holmes has taken notice of this style, and I'm convinced that this classic piece is a must-have. It has already proven to be a staple for women of all ages and will make you look put together and fashionable.

Holmes, in particular, was spotted wearing a "Bordeaux" colored leather coat by Magda Butrim. (She paired it with a two-tone tan and green Strathbury bucket bag (opens in new tab).) The coat is slightly loose fitting and features a detachable waist belt and buttoned cuffs. The dark brown/wine color looked great on her and I barely looked at her to see who she was with. Currently available in multiple sizes for $3,670. However, if this price is not in your budget, I found a similar brown leather trench that I'll buy first.
