In the late 80s, the world of streetwear changed forever when Stüssy (opens in new tab), inspired by the Southern California surf scene, was born. Founded by surfer Shawn Stüssy, Stüssy entered the apparel business by selling merchandise with his name scribbled on it for promotion and accidentally created one of the most recognizable logos in the world, the iconic graffiti "Stüssy scribble" was created.

With success, Stüssy became known worldwide: DJs, artists, musicians, skaters, and trendsetters around the world began to take notice of Stüssy. The creative collective later became the "International Stussy Tribe," with chapters in New York, Tokyo, London, Berlin, and Los Angeles.
