Jessica Mulroney calls opinion "the lowest form of human knowledge" in a post calling for empathy in 2021.
Jessica Mulroney (opens in new tab) wants people to stop focusing on their opinions and focus on empathy in 2021. The stylist and influencer (and longtime friend of Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, of course) shared a message on this theme with her followers on Instagram on New Year's Eve.
The image in the post was text, with a quote that clearly resonated with Mulroney in particular:
"Opinions are truly the lowest form of human knowledge. It requires neither accountability nor understanding. The highest knowledge is ...... empathy, for it requires that we suspend our ego and live in the world of others. This requires a deeper purpose beyond the self."
In her caption, she wrote, "Here's to a little more empathy in 2021: ❤️" and attributed the quote in the image to Bill Bullard.
The post came after a year in which Mulroney battled negative publicity for herself following accusations that she tried to use her white privilege to hurt the career of black influencer Sasha Exeter (open in new tab) In October, she Instagrammed a post, accusing "a**holes" (opens in new tab) of merely pretending to be her friend before the scandal.
"Silver lining: we finally know a**holes we thought were our friends. Best gift. pardon my Manners," she wrote.
