What I Wear on Repeat: White linen long-sleeved T-shirt by Everlane

In this bi-weekly series (opens in a new tab), we'll show you the items our editors wear repeatedly, whether it's a basic white T-shirt or an ultra-trendy jumpsuit. Get yourself (and your credit card) ready for guilt-free shopping.

Somehow, I made it through 2020 without a single day of clothing (i.e., without changing out of my oversized T-shirt and sof shorts) during the pandemic. In a way, I was actually able to wear "real clothes" for the weekend routine of running around the neighborhood, drinking coffee, and doom-scrolling that I had grown accustomed to while quarantined in South Florida. One of the pieces my family (and my Instagram stories) saw me wear at least five times and counting, a white linen long-sleeve T-shirt from Everlane (opens in new tab).

Unlike short-sleeved T-shirts, long-sleeved white T-shirts don't get much attention. Even I, who wear long-sleeved shirts religiously (yes, even in 80-degree weather), had yet to find a basic long-sleeved white T-shirt that wasn't too thick, too thin, or cropped. Until six months ago, when I impulse-bought a boxy linen T-shirt from Everlane. I usually stay away from linen (especially in the South Florida heat, where sweat stains are a problem), but I couldn't help but notice the fabric, so I added this shirt to my cart.

Not only is this long sleeve tee very lightweight, but it's also a bit sheer, which adds a lighthearted vibe to my outfits. I usually like to wear a black Lululemon sports bra (opens in new tab) under it, but it also looks great with a bralette (opens in new tab). This shirt is long enough to be worn with shorts, jean skirts, or high-waisted pants with a little in or left hanging, as pictured below. This length shirt also fits as a mini cover-up for a day at the beach or pool. Either way, the airy material won't stick to your skin. (A little goes a long way these days, doesn't it?)

Everlane's white long-sleeved T-shirts, currently on sale for $22 (open in new tab) (originally $38) run true to size. Most sizes are sold out, but extra small and extra small sizes are still available on the site; if you're a medium (that's me), a size S should be fine, but if you like a boxy, slightly oversized fit, stick to your regular size. My only complaint is that there aren't more colors in this style. Everlane, if you are reading this, please add more colors for me!
