Why Risolle's Body Towels are Worth It

Welcome to Worth It! Every other week, I'll introduce you to a new product that I've tested and loved: the kind of love I'm talking about, the kind that drains you to the bottom and tells your friends, "I found The-One." Think of it as permission to splurge on anything featured here. Read on to learn more about the products you don't want to part with. Towels are full of bacteria, whether you like it or not. Warmth and humidity are the microbial equivalent of a rent-controlled Fifth Avenue apartment with a view of the park. When bacteria invade the towels that come in contact with the skin, they inevitably cause nasty pimples and inflammation, not to mention a musty smell. That is why Risolle's body towels are so revolutionary: not only are they made with bacteria-resistant ingredients (Silverback) and fibers (Tencel Lyocell), they are also environmentally friendly and have anti-aging properties. Combined with bamboo rayon and other vegetable fibers, this item is softer than conventional towels and kinder to both skin and the environment. Who would have thought that one towel could do so much?

Like many people (I suppose), I had never really thought about the role of towels in body care. I can look at a slightly sad, damp towel and get frustrated that I need to wash it soon, but living in an apartment without a washing machine, I am constantly weighing the pros of clean laundry versus the cons of a trip to the laundromat. When I first heard about Risole Body Towels, I was a little shocked at the price. Why spend $99 for a piece of cloth that does the same job (technically) that a paper towel can do?

Then I touched it. As much as I would love to describe the texture of this towel, in reality it is almost impossible. It's like touching a cloud, fluffy and soft, yet intangible and airy. Using this towel after a shower was enough to convince me that nothing had touched my body. I wouldn't have really felt it on my skin if it weren't for the fact that water droplets suddenly stopped falling on the bath mat.

Now that the initial shock has worn off a bit, I can appreciate these towels on a whole other level. I've noticed a remarkable reduction in the hair on my legs, which is exacerbated by bacteria, and despite the radiator's hard work, the skin on my body hasn't been as flaky lately. I washed these towels several times in a commercial washing machine at a laundromat. Just to make sure that the 0.1% bacteria that inhabit these towels don't stand a chance. I won't go near old towels anymore. Compared to the Risolle Body Towel, the other towels in my collection are nothing more than excuses for bacteria-infested, sandpapery-feeling towels. Who would want that when there are clean, fluffy towels out there?
