Kate Middleton re-wears blazer by wedding dress designer

Kate Middleton has been a fan of Alexander McQueen (opens in new tab) since she walked down the aisle in his wedding dress in 2011. Speaking to the nursing student in her latest video call with Prince William, which the Cambridges shared in an Instagram video Wednesday, she re-wore another McQueen piece: a black tuxedo-style blazer with satin lapels and statement pointed shoulders paired it with a cream sweater and gold jewelry.

As spotted by royal style tracker What Kate Wore (opens in new tab), Kate debuted the blazer in a video (opens in new tab) announcing the winners of the October 2020 Wildlife Photographer Awards. Filmed from London's Natural History Museum, the Duchess of Cambridge first paired the blazer with matching Alexander McQueen pants, a simple black top, and pearl earrings.

In their latest video call, William and Kate spoke with nursing students from the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland about their experiences training during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Cambridges spoke from Sandringham House, the Queen's base of operations during the lockdown.

"Nursing is one of the most trusted professions in this country. So there couldn't be a better choice of profession and we need it more than ever," Kate said.

"Almost three generations of people are now stepping up, not only those who have come back from retirement, but also those in training," the Duchess continued. 'We've done really well.'
