The Imperial Household Agency is reportedly considering stripping Meghan and Harry of their knighthoods.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just had an explosive interview with Oprah (opens in new tab), where really no subject was off the table. And now the Times of London (opens in new tab) (via Page Six (opens in new tab)) is reporting that the Palace is considering stripping Meghan and Harry of their titles of Duke and Duchess.
"After this interview, I honestly don't think anything is off the table," said one source, adding that stripping Meghan and Harry of their titles would be a "big step," but that is literally how "canned" the queen is (The Queen is not the only one who has been "cankled" by the government. (Another source close to Her Majesty, however, said the change in titles was "not controversial. One source said that in the face of the revelations, "the repercussions will depend greatly on whether they go after the institution or the people. If they go after the people, the people will take a huge hit. The organization can withstand the blow, but the people cannot. The organization is not at war; the Sussex people are at war."
The Sussexes mentioned several members of the royal family by name. Both Harry and Meghan spoke about their close relationship with the Queen, but Harry also spoke candidly about being let down by his father (who stopped returning his phone calls) (opens in new tab) and being deprived of "space" by his brother (opens in new tab).
