Trevor Noah and Minka Kelly are not Instagram officials, but they are In-N-Out officials.
As the de facto awards season rages on, all eyes are on the 2021 Grammy Awards (opens in new tab), which will be broadcast live from an as yet unknown location in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 14. We'll have to wait and see if the broadcast will be fraught with technical problems (opens in new tab), how effective the audience-ignoring performances by Meghan C. Stallion, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, and others will be, and of course, what a very strange year it has been for the music industry! Who will take home the biggest prize of the night is anyone's guess. What we do know, however, is that the show will be well entrusted to host Trevor Noah, who has mastered the art of non-clumsy remote hosting while continuing to produce episodes of "The Daily Show" (opens in new tab) from his New York apartment.
One person who will almost certainly be rooting for Noah, either from backstage at the show's undisclosed location or from the L.A. home the two may now possibly share, is Minka Kelly, who has been dating the comedian since last August. However, if tabloid reports are to be believed, Kelly and Noah are extremely serious about each other. For more on Kelly and Noah's relationship, click here.
If you're logged into Netflix or like the mid-season NBC primetime show, you'll definitely recognize Kelly as high school cheerleader Lila Garrity in "Friday Night Lights." Raised in L.A. and former Aero The actress and model, who is also the daughter of Smiths guitarist Rick Dufey, had appeared in several films and television shows before being cast in "FNL," but Lila was her first major role and was widely praised by critics. Clear-eyed, full of heart, she really can't be beat.
After her breakout role in FNL, Kelly landed long-lived roles in Parenthood, the reboot of the short-lived Charlie's Angels, Almost Human, and now DC Comics' Titans series as Dawn Granger, aka Dav He currently stars in DC Comics' "Titans" series as Dawn Granger, a.k.a. Dove. He also starred in the cult favorite thriller "The Roommate," played Jackie Kennedy in "The Butler," and made indie kids' heads spin at the end of "500 Days of Summer" by calling himself Autumn. It took my breath away.
In addition to his impressive array of on-screen roles, 40-year-old Kelly has a wide range of talents and passions off-screen. She is active in social and political causes, has designed a Taylor Swift-approved (open in new tab) line of sustainable jewelry, and is an avid traveler. She is also an impressive baker and chef, evidence of which can be seen on her regular foodstagrams.
Kelly enrolled at the New School of Cooking in Southern California in early 2015 and spent the next six months documenting her growing expertise in the kitchen on Instagram. In June of that year, she celebrated her graduation from the program with a class photo, writing (open in new tab), "That's it. We made it. What an amazing experience these past six months have been. I wonder what my next hobby will be."
Kelly, who has previously dated Chris Evans, Derek Jeter, and Jesse Williams, was first reported to be dating Noah in August 2020. At the time, an anonymous source told People (opens in new tab) that the relationship was already "very serious," and E. News (opens in new tab) reported that it had been going on "for months," despite the fact that their representatives refused to comment.
Since then, anonymous tabloid reports have continued to swirl around them, despite Kelly and Noah's attempts to keep their relationship well hidden and their only occasional public appearances together. In January, for example, news broke that Noah had purchased a $27.5 million mansion in Los Angeles. People (open in new tab) reported that the two have plans to move into a huge house together, and an unnamed source declared, "They are planning their future together and it is a very stable relationship."
More recently, Kelly and Noah - Trevka 'Minvor - made one of their few public appearances at the end of February, when they were spotted having dinner at an In-N-Out drive-thru in Los Angeles on Noah's 37th birthday (opens in new tab). Celebrities: they really are just like us.
