Maje Unveils Exclusive Ibiza-Inspired Accessory Capsule Collection

On the occasion of the first anniversary of Maje's Ibiza store opening, Maje is celebrating with a special celebration: a limited edition capsule collection in collaboration with the Barcelona-based design studio Cobalto Studio (opens in new tab). Ibiza was an immediate source of inspiration. During the off-season, I took the time to discover this fascinating island and was captivated," Maje founder Judith Milgrom told Marie Claire. 'The mild climate, the bohemian vibe, and the stunning nature. To celebrate the store's first anniversary, we designed a limited edition capsule collection inspired by land and sea, an ode to the Mediterranean. I knew I had to work with Gabrielle Escames of Cobalt Studios. I liked the idea of giving Escames complete freedom and artistic direction to work on this project, surrounded by female artists"

.

With this collection, Cobalt Studio and Maje bring you the Ibiza getaway of your dreams. Escames tapped various Spanish artists to reinterpret local traditions, such as actress-turned-jewelry designer Mar Del Hoyo; Del Hoyo and Cobalto Studio created the M basket bag, the "emblematic accessory" of the collection, which is customized (opens in new tab). The woven bag is adorned with Mar Del Hoyo's ceramic shell sculptures and is made in Cobalto Studio's Barcelona workshop. All ceramic sculptures are handmade and each bag is one-of-a-kind, as each shell is individually sewn.

Mar del Hoyo, along with M Baskets, designed a small collection of ceramic jewelry that includes shell earrings (opens in new tab) and bracelets (opens in new tab). These marine-inspired accessories were designed to complement the RTW collection, which is filled with crocheted and colorfully embroidered pieces that truly capture the spirit of the Mediterranean.

To continue this celebration in honor of Mediterranean traditions, Cobalt Studio designed a special pop-up store in the Ibiza store in collaboration with a female artist. Escames worked closely with Barcelona-based ceramic artist Marta Bonilla and used her ceramic sculptures in the store. The floral design for the store was done by Carolina Spencer. All images for the capsule were shot by Barcelona-based photographer Alba Yruela (opens in new tab).

The capsule collection of accessories and RTW is now available on Maje's website (opens in new tab) and in select stores.
