Jessica Mulroney's Mysterious Instagram After "The Invisible Me" Airs
On Saturday, a day after Prince Harry's documentary with Oprah, "The Me You Can't See" (opens in new tab), was released on Apple TV+, Meghan Markle's longtime friend Jessica Mulroney mysteriously posted on her Instagram Story posted a note: "When you're ready, speak up for what you believe in. No matter how loud the other voices are, your voice is the only one that matters." Harry spoke at length about his wife and family in the documentary, detailing his 2-year-old son Archie (opens in new tab) and the mental health struggles that both he and Meghan have faced.
Mulroney said he remains close to Princess Meghan, whom he met in Toronto 10 years ago and has been a close friend ever since, but rumors continue to fly about their friendship in light of the 2020 controversy surrounding Mulroney. Last June, in the midst of the "Black Lives Matter" protests that swept the nation in the wake of George Floyd's murder, influencer Sasha Ekster accused Marlonie of threatening her. In a screenshot shared by Exter, Mulroney said: "If you go to the press or threaten your followers with this crap, I am not afraid to go to brands and tell them what you are doing to me."
"Jessica basically checked all the boxes of what a white woman should never do during the biggest race riot in history," Exeter wrote on Instagram. (Opens in new tab) In response, Marlonie's CTV show "I Do Redo" was put on hold and several of her partners cut ties with her (Marlonie later shared a text saying she added context to her comments to Exeter (opens in new tab)). Regarding the controversy, Mulroney brought up Princess Meghan, saying, "I had a very public and personal experience with one of my closest friends in which race came to the forefront. I learned a lot from it. I learned a lot from it."
Princess Meghan reportedly "couldn't get over" (open in new tab) that Mulroney had brought her into the conversation, and the two were estranged for some time. Later, Mulroney shared a photo of Meghan's wedding on her Instagram, but deleted it three days later. The Post quoted one source as saying: "Their friendship isn't what it used to be, but it's not [Exeter's] fault; they've just grown apart." Of course, Princess Meghan is concerned about Jess. She will always love her."
Marlony insists that she and Meghan remain friends, but Meghan has not commented on the controversy; in March 2021, Meghan apparently sent Marlony flowers, which Marlony shared on Instagram: "LUCKIEST FRIEND XXXX,. THX MM," she wrote.
