On Wednesday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended a ceremony honoring veterans on the battleship-turned-museum Intrepid in New York City, which was a big story for both of them this week, as was Meghan's stunning red Carolina Herrera gown for the occasion, The couple's secret trip together on Thursday was equally noteworthy. On Veterans Day, Harry and Meghan made a surprise visit to Task Force Liberty at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey to visit Afghan refugees living there. [According to Vanity Fair, Harry and Meghan hosted a luncheon with all six military branches at the base to discuss mental health in the military, also wearing poppy pins in honor of Remembrance Day in the UK on November 11. The two then toured the base and met with some of the women who had recently arrived in the U.S.

Harry and Meghan then reportedly asked if they could visit the children during their English conversation class, and just as the teacher was singing to the children, they joined in and led them in a chorus of "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes." They later revealed that the song is also a favorite of their 2-year-old son Archie.

According to the Sussexes' representative, before meeting the family, they asked the staff how to say the words in Dari, and according to Express UK, they "left every interaction saying 'Tashakur,' which means 'thank you' for both children and adults alike."
