Rutkowski released her book of essays, "My Body" (open in new tab), on November 9, and it has been a bestseller ever since (as expected). My Body is now a New York Times bestseller!" The author recently wrote on Instagram. 'It's been a surreal week. Thank you to everyone who read the book and sent me messages about how my story resonated with them and what it made them think."

Ahead of the book's release, Starr spoke to Vanity Fair magazine about what the book means to her." 'These are all stories about my body in different ways,' she said." How it is perceived, how I have used it, how it has been used, what access it has given me, it has also made me feel like nothing more than a body."

"I knew that a lot of people would roll their eyes at that title and think, oh, Emily Rutakowski wrote a book called My Body. But my name is kind of synonymous with "My Body." My name is kind of synonymous with my body image and Instagram and "Blurred Lines" and all that stuff. And I liked to use what people associate with the book in a conceptual way. I would think about their preconceived notions about me and use that as a tool in the experience of reading the book."
