Jennifer Lawrence says she had "people-pleasing" issues before the spotlight.
Jennifer Lawrence hasn't been seen much lately; she took a break from acting in 2018 and has been working on several projects since 2020.
Now, with the release of the Netflix film "Don't Look Up," directed by Adam McKay and co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Lawrence is returning to the spotlight via a cover story in Vanity Fair magazine.Speaking to the magazine, Lawrence explains how unfulfilling her work had become before she decided to take the step." I wasn't sending out the quality I should have," she said. 'I think people were fed up with me. I was fed up with me."
"It had gotten to the point where I couldn't do anything right. If I walked the red carpet, people would say, 'Why didn't she run?' I felt like I could do my job and no one would be mad at me. No one would get mad at me'. And I felt like I had reached a point where people were not pleased with my mere existence. And so I was sort of shaken out of the idea that a job or a career could bring peace to my soul."
She said, "I was like, 'I've got to get out of this job.'
The actress has seen all the heartbreaking drawbacks of living as a celebrity. For example, she had to hand her dog Pippi over to her parents to avoid being followed by paparazzi when she walked her dog Pippi. So, naturally, she is adamant about protecting her child and her pregnancy from insanity at all costs. If I'm at a dinner party and someone says, "Oh my God, you're having a baby," I say, "I can't talk to you about that. Stay away from me, you psycho!" I wouldn't be like, "Oh, my God, I'm so sorry," but my whole body instinct is to protect their privacy (and probably my husband's and baby's) for the rest of my life. I don't want anyone to feel welcome in their presence. And I feel like that starts with not including them in this part of my work." That's right.
