Kate Middleton and Prince William Announce Details of Christmas Carol Concert
The Cambridges' first ever Christmas carol concert had already been the center of some drama before its official announcement.
The special show, which was to be broadcast on the BBC, was removed from the BBC and moved to ITV after the former chose to air the controversial documentary The Princes and the Press, despite protests from the royal family.
In the midst of all this commotion, official details of the concert were announced.
The royal couple released a photo of the invitation on social media. It read: "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge, in gratitude for the support of the Royal Foundation and the Rector and Chapter of Westminster Abbey, has invited [inexplicably me] to perform at the Carol Service on Wednesday, December 8 at 5pm at Westminster Abbey (London, SW1P 3PA). Please have the pleasure of joining us with [insert name of person who is not]."
It says: "I am very happy to be here.
The caption reads, "This Christmas, we celebrate the amazing work of individuals and organizations across the country who go above and beyond to help their communities. [Next week, the Duchess will host a Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey. [The service, which will be broadcast in December, will not only reflect on the past 18 months and the unprecedented challenges we have all faced as we continue to deal with the COVID-19 epidemic, but will also remember the positives.
