Kate Middleton and Prince William Showed "Strength as a Couple" at Carol Concert, Body Language Expert Says
On December 8, the Cambridges performed a Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey.
Kate Middleton in a stunning calf-length red coat with a large bow at the front by Catherine Walker, red velvet pumps by Gianvito Rossi, and sapphire earrings by Queen Mother (per the Daily Mail), She looked as glamorous as ever. But even more fabulous than the Duchess' outfit was her complicity with her husband, Prince William.
"As Kate and William exit the car, they both have very genuine smiles on their faces. But in this photo, both Kate and William's emotions are sincere, and you can tell because their entire faces, especially their eyes, are tight," body language expert Darren Stanton told Marie Claire on behalf of Coffee Friend (opens in new tab).
"It's a gesture that not only reassures Kate, but also gives her confidence and shows the world that the two of them are a team."
Stanton continues. "While posing for the photo shoot, Kate snuggles up to William, both of them looking in the same direction, cementing their status as a power couple. Again, they smile authentically as they stand together, and this kind of showing reinforces their strength as a couple and expresses their love for each other."
For Stanton, the Cambridge couple's bond is undeniable. He explains, "These nonverbal gestures are called mirroring in psychology and are a sign of a very strong bond." 'Kate and Wills demonstrated this with Carol Service, both of them taking off their masks. When we unknowingly do something with another person in the same way, it signifies a deep trusting relationship. So Kate and Wills are synchronized as if they are moving and operating as one person."
The expert also noted how much love is evident in these photos. Of the photo below, he writes, "Kate has a big smile on her face while William appears to be joking around with his wife. Kate's whole face is attractive and her affection for her husband is undeniable; it is clear that the two have genuine and deep feelings for each other.
But the Cambridges were not the only happy couple in attendance that evening. Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, also looked super in love. See for yourself:
The Duchess' brother James Middleton and his new wife Alizée Thevenet also came to support the event, as did Pippa Middleton (now Matthews), Princess Eugenie, the Countess of Wessex and many others.
The concert, to be broadcast on ITV in the UK on Christmas Eve, was organized to thank the "unsung heroes" of the pandemic. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrote on their Instagram account, "It was a very special night."
