Jennifer Aniston Says She Had the "Hardest Time of Her Life" While Filming "Friends"
Jennifer Aniston prefers to remain as private as possible. That is infinitely understandable, given how she has been treated by the media over the course of her career.
But in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress opened up about something she rarely does, giving us a raw look at what her life has been like since she first found fame. Unfortunately, it was not all a bed of roses.
The interviewer brought up the recent "Friends" reunion, which Aniston once said was a difficult experience for her. She replied, "Time travel is hard."
Aniston was encouraged to continue and said, "I think we went into it very naively. And then it's like, 'Oh yeah, I didn't even think about what was going on when I actually came here before.'"
And what was going on, apparently, was really, really hard." Hi, past, remember me? I thought everything was right in front of me and life was going to be gorgeous, but I never thought I would go through the hardest time of my life. ...... 'It's so shocking and of course there are cameras everywhere and I guess you could say I'm already emotionally prone. I don't know how I avoided it."
Aniston did not say exactly what was so hard for her at the time, but explained that it was not career-related. It was something more personal, something that kind of shaped my expectations, so to speak," she said. 'We all had ideas of what the future would be like, and we were going to hunker down and focus on this or that, and then overnight everything changed. But then again, if you can look at the ups and downs of life that way, it's all a blessing. If it hadn't all happened, I wouldn't be sitting here like I am now."
Aniston was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005. Shortly after their split, Pitt began dating Angelina Jolie. The general assumption is that that is the specific event that Aniston calls "the most difficult time of my life," but obviously it is up to her to confirm this.
