John Legend has a new tattoo! It was designed by Chrissy Teigen's daughter Luna. Legend posted a photo of the tattoo on his Instagram story with the caption, "New tattoo by @winterstone based on Luna's sketch."

But while Legend may be flaunting his new ink now, it sounds like he wasn't in a hurry to get it.

Teigen appeared on "The Ellen Show" last week with his original Luna design, a butterfly tattoo. When the host asked her about it, she revealed her husband's betrayal. Luna was drawing for us one night and said, 'I love this, it's the best butterfly I've ever drawn.' I said, 'I agree,' and she drew a beautiful bouquet of flowers on John's arm. He was like, 'If you're going to get a tattoo, I'll get one,' and I was like, 'Well, I hate to say it, but yours is even nicer. But we support the arts, so ......."

"I'm a big supporter of the arts.

When DeGeneres asked if Legend also got a tattoo, his wife replied, "He ended up not getting one! So he took a picture of it and said, 'Let's take this and go to Winterstone.' So I got the tattoo, but he didn't go get it! But I really liked it, Luna."

Better late than never, right?

Teigen got a butterfly tattoo in June. She posted on Instagram at the time, "Luna drew me this butterfly today. I wanted @winterstone to move it and center it for an issue I'm discussing in therapy, but in the end we decided to leave it where she belonged. It's a little imperfect, a little messy, but she's here."
