Prince William gives Kate Middleton a "gin and tonic" after the kids go to bed, family friend says.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's life must be pretty stressful, so it seems like a good idea to have a relaxation ritual that they can share.

Apparently, after a long day, when George, Charlotte, and Louis go to bed, the Duke serves the Duchess a homemade mixed drink.

"William brings Kate a gin and tonic," a family friend told People. 'They look out for each other.'

Brits in general are quite obsessed with gin (as evidenced by the many gin-themed greeting cards and novelty items currently being sold in London (I just bought a G&T chew toy for my dog)), and this update further cements her status as an honest-to-goodness royal.

Another source corroborates the theory: "Kate likes to maintain a mundane lifestyle. For example, she is very present, trying to be as normal as possible for her children, and does her best not to spoil them too much.

This is not the first time the Cambridges have reportedly enjoyed the food and drink of normal people; in September, they were spotted enjoying a pub lunch near their Norfolk home that included burgers and french fries; in 2019, the Duchess was spotted enjoying pizza with pepperoni rather She also revealed that she prefers bacon.

In that light, what the royal family can and cannot eat on various occasions is a bit less relatable: you won't find the Cambridges at a Red Lobster branch, for example.

Also, according to a former Buckingham Palace chef, if the Queen dines with them, they can't eat carbs for dinner. Wow.
