Kate Middleton and Prince William have had a tough time since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made the decision to leave royal duties and the UK, but it has also apparently made the Cambridges stronger.

The Duchess is "really, really upset about it all," a source told People.

Another source, a friend, says that "everything with Harry and Meghan is a big stressor, but if anything, it's bringing [her and William] closer together. She was upset because [William] was upset. It was hard to see my husband so distraught."

Nevertheless, Middleton has the wherewithal to endure this difficult situation." She is not a pushover," the friend adds." She certainly has inner strength."

It is difficult to know exactly what the relationship between the Cambridges and Sussexes has been like since the latter's departure in early 2020 and even a few years before that. There have been several reports indicating that Prince William and Prince Harry are trying to repair their relationship, but some royal experts are skeptical about the possibility of a reconciliation in the near future.

The Duke of Sussex has since moved to California and has returned to his native country, but his wife has not yet returned to England.

For a time, there were rumors that the Sussexes wanted to have their daughter's christening in Windsor, but this has now been put off, partly because of Prince William's wishes. The U.S.-based royals will also not be visiting the U.K. for the Queen's Christmas celebrations.
