Ryan Reynolds Mistaken for Ben Affleck at Local Pizzeria - and He Corrects No One

Ryan Reynolds may be one of the most recognizable celebrities on the planet, but that doesn't mean he is immune from mistaken identity. In the latest episode of his "Dear Hank and John" podcast, the actor revealed that the employees of his Manhattan pizza parlor often think he is Ben Affleck.

"There's a pizza place in the East Village in New York City that I've been going to for years. They believe I am Ben Affleck and have never corrected me."

When one of the moderators pointed out that this could be a problem, Reynolds quipped that it "wouldn't work" if he revealed that he was not the actual Oscar-winning Affleck. He also said that pretending to be "mildly put off" by being asked personal questions by restaurant employees made his assumed identity more believable.

"When I leave, they think: I don't think Ben Affleck is amused by us or our questions."

So what exactly are the personal questions? Apparently, he gets a lot of questions about Affleck's latest film, and even more questions about Affleck's love life." He is asked, "How is J.Lo? Reynolds simply replies "great" or "good" and leaves with a pizza.

This is not the only time Reynolds and Affleck have been confused; in 2015, a fan asked on Twitter if anyone had trouble telling the two actors apart. Tending to his trademark sense of humor, Reynolds retweeted the question, saying, "Mom, stop tweeting. Now."

Both Reynolds and Affleck appeared in the 2006 film Smokin' Aces, and Blake Lively, now Reynolds' wife, directed Affleck in The Town in 2010.
