Man with crossbow breaks into Windsor, where the Queen celebrates Christmas.

Oh no. A man was arrested by police after allegedly trespassing on private property in Windsor and brandishing a crossbow. According to the Telegraph, the man has not been identified, but police describe him as a 19-year-old from Southampton.

The Mirror reports that the intruder was spotted after he was seen climbing the perimeter fence. The man was arrested at around 8:30 AM on Christmas morning, while the Queen was celebrating Christmas, on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and violation or trespassing in a protected place.

In a comment, the Thames Valley Police Superintendent said that police responded the moment the man entered the premises and he was not allowed to enter any of the buildings. Police declined to comment on the nature of the "offensive weapon" (which reportedly was a crossbow) and said that while the investigation is ongoing, they do not believe the man poses a threat to the public.

This is not the first time recently that the queen's safety has been threatened by an intruder. According to Express UK, in 2019, a man climbed over the main gates of Buckingham Palace and began banging on the front door while the Queen was sleeping close by. On that occasion, police rushed to the scene within four minutes.

This is the third attempted break-in at Windsor Palace this year, two of which occurred within days of each other in April. One of these was by a woman claiming to be Prince Andrew's fiancée, who was allowed to enter Prince Andrew's Royal Lodge and other areas for nearly an hour before being stopped by police.

However, this latest incident raises questions about the Queen's security during her stay in Windsor, according to Dai Davis, head of the Royal Protection Unit (according to the Mirror), "Windsor seems to have had a problem with intruders recently, and those in charge have been told that something more sinister We need to get to the bottom of this immediately before something more sinister happens."

Maybe the Queen should get a ring or something?
