Kristen Stewart's biggest takeaway from "Spencer": all Brits are "crazy" about KFC.

Kristen Stewart, who played Princess Diana in the biopic "Spencer," is getting rave reviews. Actress Kristen Stewart said that while filming the movie, she learned a lot about the historic Princess Diana, but she also learned a lot about the British people in general. The British are obsessed with Kentucky Fried Chicken," she said.

In a recent interview with the Daily Mirror, Stewart reflected on one of Spencer's final scenes, in which Diana leaves Sandringham to take William and Harry to the British branch of KFC. 'If you've ever spent any time in England, they're obsessed with that shit. 'I think they're even more obsessed with KFC than they are in England. 'I have to go there for a ginger burger,' he said.

The finger-licking scene had such an impact that the real-life KFC released its own version of Diana's iconic black sheep jumper. The chicken-patterned sweater was given out to the first 100 people who visited KFC's Leicester Square location and ordered a value bucket.

"I've never seen it, but I've heard about it," Stewart was asked about the jumper. 'It's really interesting to me.'

Joking aside, Spencer's now-famous ending is very much based on the truth: when Marie Claire spoke to former royal chef Darren McGrady in 2017, he revealed that Harry and William really loved fast food. 'I remember one day the Princess came into the kitchen and said, 'Let's cancel my boys' lunch and go to McDonald's,' he said. ' The boys loved McDonald's, they would go for pizza and potato skins. They were royal princes, but they had the taste of children."

Paul Burrell, a former royal butler, corroborated this story in the Mirror, saying, "The three of them would go to McDonald's for a Big Mac and fries before returning to watch 'Blind Date'."

Diana's attempt to give her sons a taste of normal life (and 11 herbs and spices) at Spencer definitely follows the McGrady and Burrell story, but it is not clear why director Pablo Larrain changed the venue from McDonalds to KFC.

However, I would like to imagine that it has something to do with the fact that Prince William was photographed staring into a KFC window in October 2020. The photo went viral when the chicken chain tweeted it along with the words "His Royal Thighness."

British Royal Family + KFC = the strangest, most punny combination ever made in heaven.
