Kate Middleton, Most Popular Smile in the Royal Family, According to New Report

Another interesting report on the royal family was released today.

Ultima Dental recently released data on which royal families have the most Googled smiles. The Canadian dental practice analyzed Internet searches about the blue-blooded family that included the words "smile" and "teeth" to compile a list of the most popular royal smiles.

Kate Middleton took the top spot, with 36,000 searches each year. Breaking that number down further, Kate's teeth (yes, just her teeth) get about 2,400 searches per month, and her entire smile gets 600 searches per month.

The Duchess of Cambridge was overwhelmed by Meghan Markle, who came in second with 17,400 searches per year. The study also revealed that the phrase "Meghan Markle's teeth" is entered into Google about 1,000 times per month. That's still a huge number, of course, but it's less than half the number of hits Kate's smile gets.

In third place was Prince Harry (15,000 searches per year), followed by Lady Louise Windsor (10,800 searches per year) and Queen Elizabeth (7,800 searches per year).

"The Royal Family is globally recognized and incredibly influential, so it is exciting to see how much influence they have, right down to their smiles," a spokesperson for Ultima Dental said in a statement. 'It is interesting to see whose smiles the public is most interested in, and the Duchess of Cambridge came out on top. Her smile is iconic and therefore it is not surprising that the public is Googling her teeth and finding inspiration"

.

So what exactly is the secret to Kate's dental success? According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess had braces when she was 12 years old and did a little more straightening and teeth whitening before her wedding to Prince William in 2011. The braces were done by London-based dentist Didier Fillion, who is known for improving smiles while maintaining a natural look.

Bernard Tuati, a friend and colleague of Dr. Fillion, even admitted that Kate's teeth are attractive precisely because they are not perfect; in late 2011, Tuati told The Times, "We like the way they look. What we like is a natural, healthy smile."

We suspect that the popularity of Kate's smile goes deeper than braces and whitening. The Duchess is often seen at her happiest, whether at royal functions or spending time with her lovely family. Let's be honest: Who wouldn't want to recreate that vision of pure joy?
