Betty White claims Ryan Reynolds' love life is "unforgettable"

It's been more than a decade since Betty White and Ryan Reynolds starred together in The Proposal, but the iconic actress claims that Reynolds has always had a crush on her.

"Ryan apparently can't get over his feelings for me," White says in this week's issue of People. But Robert Redford is 'The One.'"

Within 24 hours of the article being posted online, Ryan Reynolds responded with his typical sense of humor: early on December 30, he shared the article on Twitter, writing that he was "absolutely disgusted by the media using past relationships just to get clicks."

Ryan Reynolds and Betty White clearly have a cute friendship, and jokes about Ryan's love for her go back a long way; in 2019, the actor wished White a happy 97th birthday on Instagram, and the two looked at each other during an appearance on The Tonight Show He posted a photo of the two of them. The caption read, "I don't usually say happy birthday to my ex-girlfriends. But Betty is special."

For her part, White seems completely devoted to Robert Redford. Last year, the actress was given a life-size cutout of Redford as a gift, which she reportedly hung in her office for quite some time.

"I had him in the entrance to my office for a long time," Kirsten Michelas, White's executive personal assistant, told People. "When she would come in, he would say, 'Hey, sweetheart.'"

Sorry to hear about your bad luck, Ryan.

This week's People magazine is all about celebrating White's upcoming 100th birthday in January, with statements of praise from both Reynolds and "The Proposal" co-star Sandra Bullock.

"I was told that the script for 'The Golden Girls' was only 35 pages." And White said, "I'm a typical Capricorn. He sleeps all day. He stays out all night drinking and snacking on men."

Sandra Bullock has equal love and respect for Betty White.

"It's not easy to get the timing right in comedy. Betty makes pivots that I've never seen before and makes it look seamless," she says. 'The rest of us just sit back and pray we don't get cut from the scene.'

Brock further said she hopes White spends her milestone birthday the same way she has celebrated every day of her life."
