Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to move out of Montecito home: sources
Just two years after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left their U.K.-based royal duties to move to sunny Montecito, California, the couple is reportedly considering a move. The couple's mansion, where the family of four spent their first Christmas vacation just last month, was purchased in August 2020 for about $15 million. However, the sprawling property and 16 bathrooms (!) despite this, the couple wants to sell, according to one source.
One source interviewed by the Daily Mail explained that the Sussexes want to raise their family in a home they like better than their current one. But that does not necessarily mean leaving Montecito altogether, which counts Oprah and Kate Perry as neighbors. Sources told the publication, "They want to stay in or near the neighborhood, but they're not overjoyed about the house or the location."
The source did not elaborate on why they plan to move, but Harry and Meghan initially cited a desire for more privacy for their children as their reason for going within the United States. All news regarding their current residence, neighbors, and Archie's school has been made public at this time.
If the couple's mansion comes up for sale in the near future, it will boast significant amenities. Named (somewhat pretentiously) by the previous owner, businessman Sergey Grishin, "The Chateau of Riven Rock" has tennis courts, swimming pool, cinema, gym, wine cellar, pub games room, and even a separate guest house.
So if you have $15 million lying around in your pocket, keep an eye on the Montecito real estate market and you may have a chance to own Meghan and Harry's old house.
