Prince William Comforts Boy Who Lost His Mother, Says It Will Be "Easier"

Prince William had the very painful experience of losing his mother, the beloved Princess Diana, when he was only 15 years old. His younger brother, Prince Harry, was 12 at the time.

So when the Duke of Cambridge met the 11-year-old boy, who had just lost his own mother at age 28, during his latest official visit, he was able to offer words of comfort to little Deacon Grover and his great-grandmother, Carol Ellis.

The Duke asked Deacon:" Do you feel like you can talk about your mother?" (via The Sun U.S.).

When the boy nodded, the royal told him. 'It's difficult, but it will get easier. It will always get easier."

The prince and Deacon bonded further because both fathers are fans of Burnley Football (soccer) Club. Deacon is also a Burnley fan, but Prince William supports Aston Villa, as does his eldest son, Prince George.

The Duke of Cambridge met his children at Church on the Street in Burnley, Lancashire, England. He and his wife Kate Middleton visited the charity and met its founder, Pastor Mick, and various members of the community.

During the same visit to the north of England, the Cambridges visited Clydeslaw Community Hospital, where they met "the staff who work here and throughout this rural area."

They also met Alfie, a cute little curly-haired therapy dog who is more like the Duchess than the Duchess.
